I talked to my friend the other day.
He reminded me how we used to play.
I saw his picture on my space.
That was his eyes but not his face.
Seems time has touched us all.
Just like summer turns to fall.
Got no idea what I'm trying to say.
Guess I better cherish each remaining day.
Thanks for your reply. I think this poem is brief but complete in its content, and skillfully framed in the "rigid" gauge of what a poem is, rhyme and verse. Still your writing such a profound thought in a few words is ART...with the perfect closing "Guess I better cherish each remaining day."
A least you recognize his eyes, then the familiarities begins to happen; for the eyes are windows to the soul.
Some people do change a lot in a few years. One lady I used to work with in another department whom I haven't seen for 4 years seem to have grown about 15 years older (pardon me for saying this) Didn't really know what has happened.
You are wise to have gotten in touch with your friend and cherish the remaining days.
My book of poetry is being redone by me, I have a beautiful cover designed and the book will have a few more than 200 poems in it. I am going to have it printed on demand here in Canada. When it is done I will let you know when it is done and if anyo

A person's eyes carry the scars of the past.
