A Halloween Tale
It's Halloween night
And all the bones are clacking
There are witches on broomsticks
With loud evil cackling
Lots of riders on horseback
Without any heads
There are ghosts and the goblins
Hiding under kids beds.
Black cats are screeching
And the owls give a WHOOOOO
Red eyes without faces
Are all peering at you
The winds are moaning
The tree branches are bare
The bats are all flying
Getting caught in your hair
Vampires and mummies
Are all out for the night
Werewolves are howling
At the bright full-moon light
Bubbling cauldrons of potions
Are hidden from view
As their strong steamy stench
Turns to green sticky goo
Jack-o-lanterns are haunted
With the souls of the dead
They are hungry for humans
And they need to be fed
The banshees are screaming
In a loud high pitched tone
Grabbing at children
Who are walking alone
Trick-or-Treaters be mindful
Of this Halloween tale
And know if you go out
Your soul is for sale
For the ghouls and the monsters
Own the streets on this night
And stealing your breath
Is their source of delight

I'll try to write a Halloween poem for adults tomorrow.
I'm responding to your poem from the e-mail that I got yesterday. I had trashed this e-mail and then checked all the poems on the new poetry list. Lo and behold, this poem was not there! You need to check with AD administration to see why your work isn't being listed.

Always,
