As a soldier, were always dressed, and prepared,
as we, go out, with the roll of the dice, out there, for battle.
However, there is no way, for one, to truly, be ready,
for the moment, when one's mind, suffers from, that rattle.

For were continuously, going upon many missions,
not knowing, when well encounter, any enemy violence.
Full aware, are we, while on patrol, the absolute risk,
yet unaccustomed, to the uneasy, unveiled silence.
 
Even thou, were trained and equip,  to defend, 
and extend, our survival, by our guard.
There is, still that, deep buried fear,
as a soldier,  one can't disregard.

The chance the  great possibility,
that one of us soldiers, may not come, back alive.
We as soldiers, may ignore or try to kid,
we know, deep down, that is nothing, of which, to jive.

With that, in mind, were doing, what we can, 
to heighten, our senses, to keep our eyes, upon the prowl.
Using our hope, and inner strength, to continue on,
realizing wishful thinking, would be, in extreme denial.

That eventually, our names, are marked, for death,
of which, all of us, in time, must truly, then face.
Because as long, as were a soldier, we stand for all,
we can't, let fear, stop our duty, from taking place.
