...paints himself into a corner
and out of van Gogh-madness
springs all of his faults:
unpaid bills,
14 years of Chrrrrrristmas cards,
unread books,
paper-mound reminders,
crumpled and tattered,
dog-eared like his mind
from a daunting, painful past.
At his feet,
a few confetti-dreams
remind him that
life is worth living clutter-free,
and yet, the artist of messiness
hasn't the heart
to throw any of it away,
and move on.
