Poem Artwork

A song, a memory - a thought of you.
Thinking, wondering - what I would do.
If another time, a different place,
I had turned to see your smiling face.
Racing thoughts of what could be,
If back then it was you and me.
But these thoughts soon drift away,
Back here... to now...today.
These thoughts I have - never could,
And yes, perhaps - never should.
I speak them, sometimes - in my mind.
That's where I go, to search and find
Respite, solace - where I can say..
Ah! But for another day.

Wistful thoughts emerge from this poem. I can even envision a song.

We all have thoughts of the way things could have been, but I'm not sure healthy to have such thoughts. Perhaps we should make the best of what we have instead. You have done an excellent job with this piece. It's quality work in my opinion.

Ahhh . . . I guess we all go back in time in moments of hope and change. Hah! Hope and change! That never worked out too well on the presidential level . . .
