Here, the morning sun turns off each star
miles away from where you are.
And a gentle rain falls softly down
covering a quiet, slumbering town.

But soon the people, without a doubt,
will awaken and begin to scurry about
in trucks and trains and a million cars;
it makes me wish to be where you are.

There, somewhere so very far away
from the countless things I face each day,
I could turn and just for a minute,
find the place with your smile in it.

But I can’t reach so far away
and I’m hoping soon to find that day.
And though I’m sure that I would love it,
for now I'm content just dreaming of it.
