Poem Artwork

I pictured you quietly sleeping
A little past midnight.
Slumbering oh, so softly
In a gown of pink and white.

And I saved these new-found memories
Deep within my mind
and prayed amidst your silent dreams
A gentle peace you’d find.

I watched as your soft lips
Formed a tender smile,
And hoped that you’d found respite
Even for just awhile.

And as you lay there lonely
In the quiet of the night,
A stirring deep within me
Wondered if I might

Reach across the miles
And touch your soul of blue,
But knowing only far too well
I was dreaming too.

I relate to your poem having been victim of a long distance relationship.
Marvellous insight and soft dreamy words of deep longing and a feel of forlornness.

Yes, so touching and beautiful, and yet, only a dream.

Absolutely Stunning, with a sweetly sad ambiance, Jim
