I've not posted in a while, due to personal matters. But I wanted to maintain my presence. Here's something I came up with a few days ago. Not my usual fare, but I hope you like it.
Scars across
Your face
As you awake,
Scars made
By the edge
Of a bedsheet blade
As you slept.
Scars that fade
With the healing
Balm of day,
Gentle wounds
Sutured by smiles
You share with me.
I can not wait
Until we sleep
Again,I can not wait
To see you
The next morning,
To see you heal
Again from scars
Across your face.

Interesting how those temporary "scars" always heal within a few minutes of waking. This is an creative way to convey what you see in someone special, a unique piece of poetry.

You are new to me, but what I read seems to have traces of saddness in it. I look forward to reading more. holly
Powerfully "visual" and emotive as well, Daniel. These "scars" can also be very symbolic (at least, they seem so to me). Thank you. Love and peace to you,
Oh for them scars across the face and for that matter every place, then trying to figure out the cause, and by the time you do they are gone, faded into the skin...different for you, but not so...Ed
Nice write my friend, an expression of love and forgiving...for true love endures much as it stands the test's of time...love, joy, peace, anger, hurt, mourning, rejoicing and so many more...enjoyed this very much my friend.

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
