mass media and unaccountable agencies contribute to the progressive erosion of democracy and the direction of human energies less in the service of life and more in the service of power

*Otototoi : a lamentation sound used by Euripides in his dramas

**Freud and Bernays collaborated to devise inroads to manipulate public opinion. At the time they called it the manufacture of consent. They did’nt dream of the advent of television and mass media.

mirror mirror on the wall...

                         Ototototoi*

i was born the gentlest of them all...

and then I was brutalised beyond recognition

 beyond recovery

and they called it maturation

socialization education procreation perpetuation

Glorious glory all Gloria

And then I lost myself.. forever?

Dismantled disintegrated separated manipulated

And then I was to take life’s journey dying of thirst

in a pool of pure reason and excellent logic

We all live in a yellow submarine

Dying of thirst in the fountain

The separation and thist is so great

so great

and then i shall break

and that which is not love shall be love to me

          and kindness shall be love

          and tolerance shall be love

          and charity shall be love

          and success shall be love

         and pity shall be love

i shall break and that which is untrue i shall think it true

i shall make it true

                                        ...to rest...

and my thirst shall be so terrifying that that which is not water i shall think it water

                                        ...and rest...

and i shall be

not the plant that thirsted for water

not the flower that yearned for love

but i shall be that that i thought

                                             ...to rest...

i shall be that that i think

                                             ..and rest..

and i shall drown myself in imaginary water

                              synthetic water

and i shall drown myself in imaginary love

                              synthetic love

                              acted love

love that i think it love

water that i think it water

                                                  ...to rest..

and i shall make worlds of perfect reason

                                   synthetic worlds

                                   imitation worlds

                                   substitute worlds

and i shall build them higher  ...and higher  ..and higher

and i shall make them stronger  ..and stronger ..and stronger

..and i shall raise this world of lies above all things

for not to know the horror of my thirst

..and i shall protect this World

                                preserve it

                                conserve it

I shall kill for it

                                cherish it

                                protect it

                                         above all things

for not to know the horror of my poverty

         and of my thirst..

and i shall drown myself in this mountain of synthetic worlds

               for to forget my thirst

                              deeper deeper deeper deeper

                              higher higher higher higher

more more more more more more

                              further further further further

                              greater greater greater greater

                              faster faster faster faster faster

more more more more more more

                             faster faster faster faster faster

for not to know the horror of my thirst

          ..and the plant

          ..and the flower

                            that thirsted for love

                                 shall sing

                                 shall cry

                                        shall convulse

                                        and scream

           shall burst violent blind

            shall wither

                              shall dry

shall pine

shall succumb to all manner of suffering and disease shall fall ill so ill so so ill

shall cry cry cry in incomprehensible language

shall die

     and i shall not see

                         or hear

                                 or feel

I shall sadistically fail to comprehend the crying message

the sickness mesage

i shall just not know the horror of this thirst

for i am drowned in synthetic worlds..

                                                 escaping worlds..

supported by Freud, Bernays** and NBC**

for i free happy man am now a slave

surrounded by organised anaesthesia, amnesia and ritual

                                              for to rest..

               for i man am now

                              ...a broken man.....

for not to know the horror of this thirst

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

"deeper, faster, higher”

more and more and more more more better stronger more

  "deeper, faster, higher”

 hysterical violent more more more

hurrah for me!

i shall die in synthetic peace

and i shall be quenched in synthetic waters

and i shall smile a synthetic smile

                         of gratitude

                         of approval

                         of pride and beatitude

                    ....and i die of thirst...

We all live and die in a yellow submarine unless we consciously and in love  work a concerted long term strategy out

Tarek - I'm not sure why I did not get notified when you posted a poem. I am tracking you, so I don't know why that part of AD is apparently not always working. At any rate, there are few who I would call "great poets;" you, my friend, are a great poet! The yellow of the submarine symbolizes the cowardice that we portray, by failing to see that we can all live together in love and harmony, if only we bother to have the courage and the insight to come outside the submarine (think outside the box), and you also so eloquently allude to the fact that, although there is "water water everywhere, yet not a drop to drink" (i.e., "dying of thirst in the fountain") - here we are in this yellow submarine, pretentiously believing we are protecting liberty and hope, with solutions all around us, yet we continue to ignore amenable solutions, in the name of 'progress' and 'liberty' and 'democracy.' Incredibly well-done as always Tarek. Wonderful to see a post from you. I will send you an e-mail later. Be blessed, my friend. -- Jeff

I SEND GREETINGS TO ALL THAT THESE LETTERS MAY READ.

I hear the "secret lamentations of modern man", and I see the scornful smiles of the Indifferent Leaders of DISGRACE and
DEALERS OF DEATH.

Mammon entered in association with Ares. Their possessions spread, and "deeper, faster, higher" nine times said, (27=9) and nine times nine, (81=9) and nine are the Benighted Members that vote for them. If they refused to, the FIVE MAMMON/ARES Lords VETO!

The time is now, if the people want to follow the natural course of Justice, and instead of cry "secret lamentations of modern man", stand up, and say "No" to "MAMMON/ARES ASSOCIATED" also known as United Nations Security Council, NATO, VATICAN, and all their affiliated Shepherds and Soldiers of Shame.

This deliverance/presentation of "secret lamentations of modern man"
came on the right time.

I must congratulate the Author of this magnificent poetic-dramatic grandiose.

Healthy be the eyes of those that can read the "secret lamentations of modern man".

Justice and Courage.

Thought provoking! The dajjal came to mind, then I began to think of Bush, Sharon, Rumsfeld, and the powers that be, and how they turned our world upside down, and are still acting innocent with their so called "war on terror" while they themselves are the fuel that keeps Terror well and alive. These are trying times, thank you so much for this great offering!

Tarek! Bravo! I'm printing this out as one of the best examples
of how humanity has let the"Manufacture of consent" you spoke
about bring us to the brink of disaster! I have been convinced
for sometime that the freedom of the press in America would
bring us down, and the world with us! Of course it has to do with
greed, not with news. It is the greed of corporations that own
networks that own the news sources that vie for ratings that keep
what has become the horrendous "need to know" lie, they perpetrate
on an unsuspecting public who are too ignorant and complacent to know
the truth! The truth being that the fourth estate power no longer reports the news, they make it! They manipulate it any way they want
in order to keep an audience, and in many cases to further their
own agenda and political views. I'm sorry for ranting, I couldn't help myself!;-) Your work is so fantastic Tarek, it evokes truth to speak out!

I have to agree with Ace below, that is one hell of a treatise into your subconcious mind, Tarek...all I can say is wow, and that I do agree with most of it, although I have to read it again and again to really absorb the full meaning...quite a great piece of work...Find Peace, Ed & rufuz

an powerful sojourn into the depths of your conscious and subsconscious thoughts ... i like the metaphor of living in a submarine, yellow at that, until we have the fortitude and resolve to raise periscope and emerge from the sea of the human condition ...

a good poem to be read outloud ....

Very interesting format in which to frame this piercing lament, Tarek. Our collective human condition does indeed slowly die from a great thirst rooted in our alienation of self, neighbor and planet. A powerfully engaging metaphysical offering; Bravo!
