PAST BRIDGES BURNED

For Tracy and her spiritual poetry
She joyfully wrote about THE WAY TO GLORY
revealing to all of us her life's sad story;
about how Jesus wiped away her tears,
effectively eliminating all her fears.
Yes, He hung on that cross in agony,
but not because it was a tragedy
or that He had mightily transgressed.
It was His love that was addressed.
So, now she speaks of living free,
past bridges burned and gone, indeed;
no more a fallen woman who bitterly wept,
for Messiah thoroughly cleaned her doorstep
and wiped away all traces of her tears.
Then, for her, He stood and cheered;
and said, as He lifted her from bended knee,
"Just obey my Father's will and believe."
Thus, now she and I and so many more
are on the road to glory's glittering shore,
where we shall walk on golden streets;
all our misery in permanent retreat:
for our past sins are nevermore remembered.
After all, His love was painfully tendered,
cruelly nailed to an old gnarled tree
just to save you-- and you-- and me.
Still, while we are here in Satan's domain,
he continues to torment with evil shame;
but, we battle that old Devil with every breath,
and will keep on fighting: even to our death.
For, you see, it is our heartfelt intent
to see Lucifer's knees mightily bent:
cast into a pit of fire and brimstone;
for there is no way he can ever atone.
