There are voices in my head:

Can't you hear them, too?

These cruel and vicious voices

That pinch and cloud my view.



Quarrelsome lurks, waiting,

For a chance to steal my words,

To start an asinine battle

Over a matter that's quite absurd.



Anger throws a heavy veil

Over all the other sounds,

To ensure that in my raging words

No forgiveness can be found.



There are voices in my head:

Can't you hear them, too?

These sweet and dreamy voices

Who express my love to you.



The silken voice of Writing,

Spilling words from mind to ink,

That I might attempt to explain

The ways I often think.



Dream's quiet imagery

Helps me along the way,

Calming the sleep I seek by night

Leaving just a trace by day.



There are voices in my head:

Can't you hear them, too?

These cold and heartless voices

That speak nothing which is true .



Memory lies waiting there,

Pictures burned into my mind,

That every time I close my eyes

I dread what I may find.



The hateful sounds of Terror

Bring me to a wave of tears,

Unreasonable doubts and pain

All doubled by my fear.



There are voices in my head:

Can't you hear them, too?

These unshakeable little voices

That I can't explain to you.



Love makes my head spin

And echoes within my heart,

Assuring me that forever

Won't see us torn apart.



Yet Depression fights a battle

Against all that lies inside,

Forcing me to run, retreat

And at least attempt to hide.



There are voices in my head:

Can't you hear them, too?

These contradicting voices

That shadow all I do.
