Now I realize my stories of pain don’t go far,

They look you in the eye when they look you in the heart.

Yet the pain I write of isn’t a story of scars,

It’s a story of how my life has always been behind bars.



So I realize its time to write somethin different today,

Leave my pain behind and go on a different way,

Cause swimming in pain don’t lead you nowhere,

I realize that now, so I’m goin elsewhere.



Pain ain’t good when you bathe in its misery,

Your mind slows down when you remember its history,

You remember the times when you lived to die,

You remember the times when your heart lived to lie,

And the times where your eyes lived to cry.



Now I realize that light is always higher then dark,

It leaves you with a spark way down in your heart.

I realize now that blood is a high price to pay,

When lies and deceit is what you’re payed to say,

And where darkness and pain is the only way.



I realize now why I haven’t been myself,

I realize why I haven’t had my health,

I realize why my life is so messed up,

It’s because I haven’t just said enough,

Its because I haven’t got my life unstuck.



My friends..my life..my love..my kin,

I can’t let them all slip away again,

I can’t let it get like it was back then.

And this is why I’m writing: for me, for them,

Puttin love to a word, naming hate to a sin,

Not lettin my mind gain control,

Because I’m not the beast I had been.



I’m not going to let my mind gain control,

I realize now that my life has paid the toll,

I’ve paid too much, my life is too young,

Too many swan songs my life already has sung.



So no more, I’ll swear it to the heavens up high,

Even if there’s no God way up in those skies,

My life will never let my mind to just die,

My life will go on.

Now I realize.
