In it to Win it for Love © 2023 E. D. Phillips We come into this world without glory Not knowing a hat from a glove Now we’re ready to tell our own story That we’re in it to win it for love. Yes, we’re in to win it for love As sure as stars shine up above It takes but a minute To say that we’re in it And we're in it to win it for love. We don't need a brand new tomorrow The future’s not ours to know Still love will outlast all our sorrows If we tell everyone so. So let's sing about times that are daring We’re strong though there’s always more strife We live for the day when love has its say Or we’ll die in the glory of life— Yes, we're in it to win it for love As sure as the stars shine above It takes but a minute to tell everyone in it That we’re in it to win it for love… Yes, we're in it to win it for love!

Did you ever find a composer? One suggestion would be to look around on Fiverr.com. They have freelancers of all kinds, including songwriters. You could probably find a composer or two as well.

So true. Close to my heart, as I learned some years ago that to "be love" was perhaps the greatest gift one could give to oneself. As I've proffered in many poems, love need not have an object to know the value of this passion of experience and inherent qualities. To, as your piece suggests, "...win it for love..." is such a praiseworthy phrase, for our society is all about winning, but winning for most involves conquering the competition. Love only wants to be. Thank you for posting this fine-tuned expression of experience.

Some great lyrical lines.

If "in it, to win it for love" is your hook, chorus, or refrain, you should see if you can place it more among the lyrics rather than just at the end. (a tip I heard Lionel Richie say one time about creating a "hook" to make a song famous� Once, twice, three times a lady�)
