Constant Spirit

A poem about hope in difficult times.

It takes a constant spirit

To serve in turbulent times,

To subdue the foe of fear,

To heal the turbulent mind.

 

It takes a constant spirit

To silence the voice of doubt,

To tame the haunted memory,

To embrace what life’s about.

 

It takes a constant spirit

To live as loyal friend,

To be physician to the psyche

So souls and hearts can mend.

 

It takes a constant spirit

To give meaning to life’s flame,

To live in service to humanity,
