again, one of two poems, needed for a a Written Slam (this one, edited)--the other side of the 'face' (Jekyll/Flight)-- see 'Bound' for Hyde.
~~~
Also, my thanks to A.N. for the suggestions for this 'flight'...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

seeking out the good,
one can't  always see
the seeds laying in wait to bloom.

and so we run, I run,
escape, hide and yes, run
again.

like a firefly, I flit here
and there -- singed wings
stop me now and again.
and if I am caught--  held prisoner
in some dim jar, my small light
will still somehow shine.

though I can't always see it, myself

the child I once was is still inside,
thinking herself  wiser -- seeking
to find what she doesn't believe exists.

I wish I could tell her
or myself as it were
that there is a light within.
and that someday we'll fly
as one, together,
whole.

someday, like a firefly
let loose from a jar,
we will shine!

whole,
giving,
free.

Micha, I like the firefly relating to us as a people. Very clever. By the way, you always shine, brighter than most.

Love, Janet xoxoxo

This is gorgeous Micha...I think we all should
go back into ourselves and visit that little
child that we were...and give her/him a big
hug...and make the connection...a very insightful
poem..thanks for the nice note..have missed you..
