Come over to the fairgrounds today,
It's the Fourth of July!
The carousel and ferris wheel,
Will make you want to fly.
Cotton candy and the corn dogs,
Are bought from happy vendors,
Children and parents eating happily,
In gay and happy splendor.
Tubs of homemade ice cream,
Mothers homemade cakes,
Make this day a special one,
And everyone feels great!
Families playing softball,
Watched by careful eyes,
Everyone is having fun,
It's the Fourth of July!
Blankets spread throughout the park,
While evening comes to close,
All watch the displayed fireworks,
As their colored lights explode.
Hands together we all remember,
This reason for painted skies,
Our countries Independence Day,
It's the Fourth of July!
