For a quick laugh, check out the weekly comic adventures of Studio Reader Stan. In this first episode, he deals with a Hollywood Studio Executive named Mr. Gold.
Studio Reader Stan heads into the office of Mr. Gold, a studio executive at Quality Studios.
Mr. Gold: Studio Reader Stan, how are you doing today?
Studio Reader Stan: Actually, my name’s Larry. And I prefer Script Analyst.
Mr. Gold: I’m sorry, did you say something?
Studio Reader Stan: No, apparently not.
Mr. Gold: Hey, I just had a brainstorm. Would you consider yourself good at finding 19-year-old girls for a 42-year-old, prematurely balding high-ranking executive father of two who‘s having a mid-life crisis and who likes long walks on the beach?
Studio Reader Stan: I live in Hollywood and I drive a 1988 Toyota Corolla. In other words, women don’t talk to me.
Mr. Gold: Well, if you ever do talk to one, be sure to send her my way.
Studio Reader Stan: I’m sure I will.
Mr. Gold: Good, now let’s get to this script.
Mr. Gold pulls out a screenplay.
Mr. Gold: It’s called "Paulie and Donnie," and it’s about two immature high schoolers who start a band using only disgusting bodily noises as their sound.
Studio Reader Stan: A classic, I'm sure.
Mr. Gold: The producer who pitched it said 15-year-olds will love it. Do you think you’ll be able to set aside your college education, your jadedness and your bitterness at where you are in life -- and see this through the eyes of the average 15-year-old?
Studio Reader Stan: No, not even a little bit.
Mr. Gold: Excellent! You’re perfect for the job.
Studio Reader Stan: But there’s no chance I’m going to recommend it.
Mr. Gold: Exactly. I have a two-month vacation coming up. I can’t be bogged down with reading things.
Studio Reader Stan reluctantly takes the script and walks off with a sigh.
