Good letter from a former quest of Chicago County Jail!!!
Wow, I feel stupid for that last message now. I know who you are and I read one of your books, probably about 11 years ago. It had more of an impact on me than I can express in a short message. I am truly honored. I started life as a troubled Chicago youth. I actually read Clearwater in jail. That is probably the first time I pictured myself living away from urban areas. Before your book, if any body would have told me I'd become a truck driver, then an oilfield worker, and finally a country boy, I probably would have gotten offended or laughed. My real dream is to be a professional writer, I do the affiliate stuff just to pay the bills.
But to make a long story short, moving away from the city was the best thing that ever happened to me, possibly it even saved my life. It would probably be an exageration to say that the novel I read is totaly responsibly for my complete transformation, but it definately sparked the seed that got me so interested in the "western lifestyle". I had never even watched a western movie before then. I am truly honored to make your aquaintence.
