They drove up beside me
They forced me in their car
They told me they were taking me somewhere peaceful
They drove for miles
They showed me their gun
They told me not to scream
They told me they wouldn't hurt me if I did what I was told
They drove down many long winding roads
They made sure I didn't know where I was
They pulled to the side of the road
They put the car in park
They opened their doors
They got out of the car
They got in the back seat with me
They pulled out the gun again
They told me to take off my pants
They told me to take off my panties
They told me to cooperate and everything would be fine
They started to forcefully penetrate me
They covered my mouth while they had their way with me
They did this for what seemed like an eternity but was about 30 minutes
They dropped me off where they found me when they were finished
They drove off

I cried
I screamed
I asked why
I went homeI took a shower
I scrubbed and scrubbed until my skin was red and bloody
I got in bed
I stared at the ceiling
I tried to erase what happened out of my mind

As time went by, my memories of the event grew faint
I pushed it so far back in my head that I couldn't find it
I realized that I didn't do anything to deserve being gang raped
I wasn't throwing myself at anyone
I wasn't dress provocativelyI wasn't drunk
I wasn't looking for a good timeI wasn't anything

They violated me
They made me feel dirty
They made me feel cheap
But they didn't break me

The experience made me aware of sexual assault crimes on women
It made me realize that it could happen to anyone
It made me more aware of my surroundings
It made me a lot of things
But it didn't break me
They couldn't break me
They will never ever break me.
