We have an image of God, being the perfect fatherly creator who sits on
a golden throne and smiles benignly. I know, its just an image but I think
he's got a white beard and a red cape decked in black tassels that smell
like incense and myrrh.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Diva I live in heaven with
the angels of jubilee and of course, God.
My passion is to make chocolate to die for (?) pun intended .
Surprise!" I said to God, as he sampled the last of my dark empire winning chocolate congeler. He decided it was a Holy reunion of the palette and the tongue, so he named it tadda !!!! Godiva Chocolates.
Given that he was God, I could not refuse him this one last request .
He told me to go to earth and collect all his dying people. One Godiva chocolate per moribund soul. One, just one he said and then he laughed. So I took the spiral staircase, clothed myself with the sun, and Zoop !
When you come to the end of your journey I will unwrap one for you.
Inside you'll find a message, "welcome, child "
Since I never make two the same you will get your very own.
The devil dances on his coals each time a soul is sweetened and
unarmed. But I don't give a fig cuz King David had that covered, long ago.
I'm not just any ordinary Diva, I am God's Diva and yes my chocolate is named "Godiva" after God and I. "Devilishly good heh ?" Amen !
So very clever, playful, and witty use of words. Love that Godiva has both God and diva. I like the freedom this contains, it sashes along with confectionary perfection. ~~ djl
By using God and Diva this chocolate company has created a great marketing ploy. From gifts, recently, I have been able to taste these chocolates. I find them to be overpriced and contain very little chocolate... Mostly filler. I've acquired a taste for bitter, dark "baker's" chocolate. Actually more flavorful and the most healthy.
Devilishly good fun in this story. I love Godiva chocolates, have ever since I lived in Belgium many years ago, where I landed my very first job teaching 8th grade (1967!)
