My sister almost drowned in a canal when she was about nine years old. A angel was with her the whole time.
ANGELS ARE AMONG THE LITTLE CHILDREN
My sister was just a young girl of about eight or nine when she heard the angelic choir that brought her such peace that she is not at all fearful of death.
I am blessed to be part of a very large, loving family. We have always loved to go on picnics and spend time together playing and having fun.
Our Mom and Dad gathered all five of us up that hot summer day to find some peace and coolness in a nearby canal down in the central valley of California. My brother’s friend, Jim, was living with us at that time and he also joined us to swim in the cool water. Mama fixed a big picnic lunch and brought along some blankets to spread out on the bank for resting between dips.
After we had our fill of fried chicken and rested a while, we girls wondered back into the water with warnings to be careful. We weren’t strong swimmers, just knew how to dogpaddle.
Ines was swimming farther away than Nina and I didn’t know how to swim so I was just sitting on the bank watching and swishing my feet in the water. Suddenly she realized she was caught in a whirlpool and felt herself being pulled under the water. She fought her way back up to the surface several times, yelling for help and then she became too tired and gave up. As she relaxed at the bottom of the canal, she heard music, the most beautiful music she has ever heard, and felt a sense of peace and total absence of fear.
She also saw a light shining from above, then she was above and looking down at her body lying on the bottom. Suddenly, the music stopped and she felt herself being jerked up, up, up and out of the water. Jim, our friend, was the first to hear her cry and he quickly swam to rescue her just as she had given up.
The angels were there that day, to protect her, until she could be saved by a young teenage boy.
So glad that Jim was there to complete the rescue, otherwise that helpless scene of watching her drown would have haunted you for the rest of your lives.
No doubt her brain was compensating for the lack of oxygen by creating this defense mechanism. Similar to the brain going unconscious when pain becomes too great to bear, this kind of phenomena when the brain is starved of positive feedback is experienced quite often. A friend of mine told me had a similar experience a year ago while in surgery.
