Food for thought.
What you have today can vanish in the blink of an eye.
I learned that at the end of 2022. My health and the life I knew was broken. I was literally hanging on by a thread.
Since that time, after the smothering weight of depression, after gallons of tears, after months of wishing God had let me go rather than leaving me behind struggling to lift a spoon, I’ve slowly found a measure of peace.
And with that peace, a gratitude for so many things I barely noticed before. No matter how mundane or common place they may be. I see them now.
Life is a gift. Every breath and buzzing bee, every chirp and smile, every meow from my Maggie as she velcros against my knee.
I was too self absorbed to appreciate the grace that God had shown me for so many years. I took it all for granted.
Look around you. Take inventory of everything.
You will find blessings if you try.
One blessing will lead to another and another and another. And suddenly you are awash in them, wondering how you could’ve ever allowed yourself to believe that you had nothing.
