A little girl writes a school assignment for her Creative Writing class.
My name is Cajun, and I am a Cat. A very pretty Cat, if I must say so myself; that is, at least, that is what my Human Family is always telling me.
I am a Maine Coon. That means that I am one of the oldest known Cat Breeds, and I am the only true "American-born" Cat. My Ancestors came from the State of Maine, and we Cats were known for our long, silken fur, bushy tails, big, expressive eyes, and giant size. For a Domesticated (Pet) Cat, we Maine Coons are known for our size: we can weigh as much as 20 pounds (female Maine Coon Cats are smaller and aren't as heavy), and we are also very friendly and loveable, too. We also have funny meows; we may be big for a Cat, but there is nothing "Lionish" about our meows. We have a high-pitched squeak, which always surprises a lot of Humans because I guess they think that because we are big, we have the roar of a Lion. NOT true , as many Humans have found out!
Maine Coon Cats can be many colors: solid (one color), bi-colored (two), or tri-colored (three different colors), or have the classic "tabby-cat" appearance (a lot of Maine Coon Cats do have this; a lot of them look like Tabby Cats), or even have white on them (this is what is known as "parti-colored"). Or they can have a "Tortoiseshell" or "Calico" pattern, with or without white, and our eyes can be green, gold, or yellow. But we all have the long, bushy tails, thick, soft fur that is longer on our legs and back than our shoulders or face, a noticeable "ruffle" around our faces, long, erect ears that are often tufted like our Cousin, the Lynx, and strong, well-developed chests and legs. We are very curious, we Cats, and we love to spend lots of time playing or sleeping, or just see what is going on around us. We are never hardly bored, and we can always find something to amuse ourselves; if not, we'd be just as content as to take a nice, long catnap somewhere!
Now, me, I have a very nice group of Humans whose last name is Sandusky; but my true Owner is a little girl of 11 years named Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. I think the world of my Ronee', and she is Top Dog in my Book! She is very sweet on me, and she makes sure that I have everything I need to make me happy. She brushes my Fur every other day, and while she does this, she sings or reads to me, and just the sound of her voice is enough to start my purring motor going into overdrive! She also plays with me, and I love to make her laugh. She has a very pretty singing voice for a Human, and she also can play music too; she can do amazing things with her hands that I can't do with my paws! She also can do a pretty good imitation of a Cat; whenever she meows or purrs at me, I SWEAR there is another Cat, and it is only My Ronee'! It's AMAZING!
My Ronee' used to be Allergic to me and all Cats (she would get sick and sometimes would have to go to the Human Hospital because she couldn't breathe), but as she got older, she got over her Allergy to me, and now she can have a Cat of her own. This was where I come into the picture. I have been with My Ronee' now for about two years or so, and I just love her to pieces! She is my Caretaker, my Benefactor, and she makes sure that I am a purrfectly happy Cat!

Cajun sounds like a truly adorable creature, Ronee. Although I don't have any Main Coons, I love all cats, and so glad to hear you got over your allergies so Cajun and you can continue to be good friends.
Karen excellent write into the mind of the kitties...

What an endearing story and I liked the drawing. I have two cats that live outside. Rather I think they like my other fur children have me. Miss Kitty is grey and white and the other is a grey striped tabby named Hurricane. Loved this one
I’ve encountered many non-human creatures on my life’s journey.
I have found each and every one of these animals to be a unique and wondrous being.
Animals have truly brought fullness to my life. Some of them have also brought de
