This is a prologue 'opener', it is not meant to go into depth about any characters. It is a basic outline to set the story in its current mark. As the story expands, so shall the tale--but this is just the prologue. Please keep this in mind as you review. Thank you so much for any, and all reviews.
Some men are born of hero's, their names written in the heavens, destiny calling to them from the stars. Others are born with all the luck, pose and grace to be of noble hearts. Then there are those born of lesser tiding, mortals born into the 'trash' of society, or even worse, those who were never wanted in the first place, who's parents would rather attempt to elude and destroy them from birth. One such mortal is the beginning of this hero's tale.
Raised in the province of Felenshire where Jin Wu'xian was abandoned at the Caokroan monastery as a baby, taken in by the monks. To this day Jin has no idea who his parents are, though that never did stop his pursuit in trying to find them. He grew up studying the style of martial arts craved by mortals all over the realm; the Caokroan monk's styles were legendary. Jin became a very prodigious student. He also got the reputation for being highly disobedient and openly resentful to more than a few of the higher monks there, despite harsh punishments for the behavior.
The province was a general melting pot of races from elven and human to dwarf and of course on the outskirts there were those of his race, the triclops. Though generally peaceful, there was a great deal of tension between the humans in the lowlands; and the triclops in the more mountainous region; mainly because of the two monasteries, the Caokroan of the Triclops and the Denwhoali of the humans.
The two had been at arms for generations now, but all conflicts were usually solved in very formal manners at tournaments. However, after a fight got out of hand, both schools decided that the best way to put an end to this feud. Each monastery was to select an exchange student of sorts to learn the way of the others and hopefully bring them closer together.
As a final insult though, the triclops selected their most unruly student to go to the Denwhoali and effectively killed 'two birds with one stone'–starting to establish peace and getting rid of the upstart Jin.
Jin was reluctant to go to say the least, but did so to see what these 'humans' could teach him, if anything at all. The city of Denwhoali (named for its monastery) was larger than he expected and he was given the privilege of going out into its 'open arms' whenever he was finished with his training and studies. He had only been in the city for two months and is still getting used to his mostly human company.
