As you can see, this is a work I am basing off the role play known as 'WoD'.
Security. The main function of the underground railroads. Slaves were transported using the underground railroads. Later, those underground railroads became museums, then they became subways, rail trains, sub cars. Underground. No paved streets, no dirt roads, just speed.

The technical age produced many levels of use, for what used to be simple, dirt roads. Complexity now ruled the underground, though man-kind had long since given up on sections of rail paths.

1987--The last sub train passed through central 849, retired, due to, a series of mysterious malfunctions. Twenty miles of rails, abandoned. This became the perfect location for any gang to gather and hide. However, these 'gangs' were soon slammed with reality checks.

Two hundred and seventy-five years previous, another began to inhabit the underground rail regions, when they had all been a whisper upon a white man-slavers', worst nightmares. This just happened to be one of its favorites.

Having awakened to the sounds of humanity, it had to simply end their invasion. Again, humanity stepped upon its territory. Humans became an infection upon the 'haven'.

They(humans) kept coming, trying to ruin the peace, and so, when a creature had to adapt, or became forced to accept the many numbers--Feeling that most of those who came down into the dark, dusky strips of subway tunnels--held a common problem. A sense to belong. Loneliness. Trials within their lives. Fear. All equaled prey, and easily manipulated puppets.

The depressed! Cursed to drink only of those who had turmoil within, became an ample curse. They were easily control, for they all craved something, be it death, reward and praise, or a place to fit in. Ah yes, the depressed. Millions were depressed in the states, even more in New Port, New York. Many became a safety herd to this creature. Easily manipulated, gathered and always available. Loyal to the point of annoyance.

When they began trying to pull the creature to the surface, the creature met up with a rather unusual clan, and inside of it, a rather unusual psychologist. His name is Lucius. A man with many visions many would call him crazy (Yes, he is a malkie.) for, but not the creature. Lucius knew this creature as 'Madelyn', he also knew that he was the only one that could help make that 'haven' of hers, something of modern times. Way modern times. And she felt perfectly into his lifestyle. Never questioning him, always loving his idles.

The psychologist had been through, so much in his long life, and found comfort in the extremely social, highly beautiful female vampire. He could relate Madelyn, on more than one level somehow. Also, he enjoyed how he was allowed to give free council to her herds, or experiment upon them.

Such an odd relationship, and yet, Madelyn would benefit far more than imagined. That crazy doctor created a high security, whacked out underground haven, that even the foulest foe, or most creative hackers would have a problem entering, with logical computer knowledge.

Paranoid, the doctor layered the tunnel walls in the same material as the space crafts, atomic bomb shelters (modern), and used high tech, industrial gadgets, that only he knew and Madelyn knew how to use. The team seemed highly intelligent, however, Madelyn lacked modern knowledge. She had to depend upon her crazed friend, or members of an strong Allie force.

Madelyn proved highly useful, and very connected to social circles within a matter of years, drawing the attention of the most powerful of vampires in the cities of New York. Amazed by the social talents and intelligence of Madelyn, she began to get some powerful allies, and soon received the eye of the Primogen.

In 1998, Madelyn's disturbed friend, in a fit of paranoia, having overheard some of the Sabbat speak about his friend--Drew up plans for a constantly moving haven. Utilizing an ungodly speed (for a train of modern times), and his own creative additions. It looked like a long jet, and would hold the crest of Madelyn's true house name, and pressed upon the ancient tongue of her homeland; Gaelic. to make it highly futile to try and leap onto them boxes as they moved, try to hijack, or otherwise stop the ever moving haven.

While the plans were made into reality over time, his friend had survived an unlikely attempt on her--Surviving an effort to 'recruit' her, and exposed the Sabbat's desire to posses, and use Madelyn. His friend's intelligence and wits saved her this time, but he felt it was up to him, to finish the project, and keep her safe! He was, after all, her doctor!

In December of 2004, the underground invention completed--Madelyn, and her closest friend had an even moving haven. Indestructible in design, voice, eye and keypad security items--And one special thing anyone trying to hack would have to have. No one would see it happen, know what it was--No one could invade, for now.

Extremely high tech, built in the design of an insane genius' image--The underground haven had been built, offering a a wide range of protection, and plenty of spots to relocate. Ever changing rail times, directions, speed, and duration--Make the trains paths unpredictable.

2005--A night club, and several entrances from the railroad to major hotels, or cream of the crop locations had been drawn, and placed expertly. Madelyn could show up when needed, where needed and of course, where she wanted to.

Also in 2005, recent events--Madelyn had been given the spot, and control of the City New Port, not of her own choosing, but from the Primogen's desire to keep an eye on they one who could cause such an uproar in the Sabbat. A way to see if she truly held potential, or that she would be destroyed. Only time would tell them of their choice to make her possess such power. For now, Madelyn has the complete confidence of the Primogen. Another set of eyes have fallen upon the newly seated Prince; The Black Hand.

Many eyes keep watch on this new prince. Some have yet to hear of her, though when they do, her reputation proceeds her. No one has an unpleasant word to say about her...Yet. Not even elders.

It is unknown exactly who her sire is. It is almost as if the elders could know, but chose to keep it a secret. It is also rumored that Madelyn had an old flame, or pal in the Sabbat, but as to who it is? No one knows for sure.

Ugh. I can't think of a more horrible monster than a female vampire. Although I once experienced the vision of being eaten by a praying mantis! That was an interesting thought, after breaking up the word mantis into two parts. A praying man tis.
