How come the intellectual things that we post, and expect to get some feedback on, seem to be totally IGNORED sometimes?

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!

Today, Saturday, January 27th, 2007, I was trying to accomplish some 'house-cleaning' here at AD. In the process, I went back and re-read the abovementioned story. I had actually forgotten some of the details posted therein - because I am 'sober as a Judge' now!
To my dismay, after reading, I scrolled to the bottom to check on any Reviews or Comments - THERE WERE NONE! ZILCH - NADA - ZIP - ZERO - NOT ANY!
So, next I went to my 'stats' page to check - 172 people had actually read this title since I posted it in late November, 2006. In two months, not one person had deemed it worthy of a comment. WAS IT THAT BAD? DID THEY HATE RICHARD M. NIXON? IN FACT, DID ANYONE EVEN BOTHER TO READ HIS RESIGNATION SPEECH WHICH WAS CITED THERE?
OH, WELL - as they say: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!"
"ALAS! POOR YORICK - I KNEW HIM WELL!"
"There ought to be clowns...send in the clowns...maybe next year?"
I will go read the short story after this. But my comments does count and I like to give reviews, not always the best, but letting someone know I read their writes and got something out of them. Sorry for the disappointment. I review because I get something out of the posts. You are a deserving writer and should have some comments.
Sometimes readers just read and don't give comments; some read, but thought that they aren't good enough or educated enough to give comments on the topic. Then there are some that click on a topic and glance through it, and if there wasn't sex in the contents they don't care to comment.
Then there are others who ONLY pay attention to someone who is grieving and write venting poetry.
There are many types of readers, and yes I do agree with you. The more intellectural posts don't seem to get much comments. Go figure that out.
Now What Elizabeth Wrote,i.e. I Don't Care To Be Called Down By Den Master If I Critcize UR Write & You Disagree And Complain!

So, 172 hits isn't important in your world?
Shame, shame. Many who read, do not want to go through "signing up" at AD just to leave a comment on a work. That's why they are called readers.
And, many who do leave comments are challenged on their comments, or the "sensitive types" file complaints because their lives are so vacant of meaning. Sometimes it just isn't worth the BS to leave a comment, Tom.
Happens to all of us, Tom. Don't write for reviews; write for YOU! I've had to learn that painful lesson........although it would be nice to see a hunnert or two reviews........LOL
