Selected excerpts from the Abominable Suitor: This is the sad and solitary soliloquy of a woman named Tracy Harris, her body about to be prepared for final burial. She, the corpse, reaches out with faint grasp and feeble voice to anyone who will listen to her cries, in the desperate hope someone may free her from this house of dread - away from the cold and cruel hands of the man who murdered her.
Soon he comes, this pernicious desecrator of my corpse, in order to finish his task of preparation. Please release me from this frozen bed. Please help me! If you have ears, do you not listen to my lamentable cries for help? Do I not scream loudly enough? I beg of you, once again, to undo these straps! Do not allow this man to drain my lifeless form. But alas, with failing voice and breathless words, do I scream in vain for your help.
I know, sadly now, I no longer amongst you. I understand I do not breathe. I am of the awareness that I hear and see only the void. But I continue to search for something, now lost and lifeless, something that still exists as a living part of me. I search for that living remnant of life - for that very living source that grants me the extra seconds of precious time to talk to you before all life is drained from me.
This, that you hear, is the still and faintly breathing existence of my soul that beats long enough to give, to those caring to listen, my testimony of truth. I believe this dreaming soul of dread still exists in order that I may be purged of all sadness, and drained of all anguish not yet suffered by me; and this last, living remnant of my dying self continues to exist in another part of this house, I believe. While faintly I talk to you, I continue to search for that eternal piece of my ever lasting, living existence before I am forever silenced.
Incoherently, both body and soul are being torn apart, while I am thrown through the dark regions of this room and beyond; as I am compelled to lie upon this uncomfortable bed, forced I am, to remain forever still, while being cast into a lonely exile of the dark and damp. Little time remains to revive my senses. Flesh already commences its ultimate demise as it creeps, closer and closer, to the bone, for immediately upon receipt of my funeral rites, my cries for help shall cease forever more.
As I lay silently sleeping, remember the foulness that hides within every desolate region of this cold man's heart. Remember that I warned you of Triblinkus. Be vigilant even after death, for the violators of the grave -the desecrators of the corpse are all around me and, yes, even you too perhaps.
In death's silent somnia, dare not sleep too deeply, for your rest may be interrupted by the corruption of Triblinkus. Stay awake even in death, just in case he comes for you in the stillness of night. If you hear the advance of cowering, creeping footsteps, hide yourself under the sheets; if Triblinkus reaches for you while you silently sleep, scream at him! Scream for help! Or better yet, lie perfectly still like the dead in the hopes Triblinkus overlooks your sleeping corpse. Whatever you decide, stay clear of this house of desecration and pain, I beg of you.
Ssshhh...Someone help me, if you can. Listen again to my whispers of warning: Before you sleep tonight, warm and secure you awake tomorrow, think of me here alone and afraid. Think kindly, if you will, of a young woman who has done nothing to deserve this eternal night of lonely sorrow. Warn other innocent women like me about Triblinkus. Please. That's all I ask, for I realize you are powerless to help me. No one can help me now, but possibly, I am able to help you. I have given my solemn and sacred words of admonition to you about Triblinkus. His secret is now yours to do with as you deem fit. Please, be careful. Be wary. Be safe.

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into
