Just for the sheer Hell of it, thought I would share some information with Y’all. Anyone who follows my postings knows that I write often about controversial topics, which concern me. These are mostly mainstream, serious subjects that I care deeply about, like: Oil Rip-offs, Medicare Rip-offs, Veterans’ Plights, Islamo-Fascism, Iraqi Crackie, Corporate Greed, Lying Administration and Congressional CORRUPTION, et cetera.
To that end, I usually send emails to my Congress-Persons, which usually result in one of three categories:
1. An Actual Reply to the topic or issue at hand - this did happen ONCE!
2. A BULL-SHIT FORM LETTER RESPONSE - telling me how damned BUSY he/she/it is!
3. ABSOLUTE, TOTAL IGNORANCE - WITH NO REPLY
WHATSOEVER!
So, as my e-mail sub-folder entitled, AMERICA has grown too much with said non-specific replies, I wanted to DELETE same, and put them where they belong - in the TRASH!
To that end, I have attempted to learn how to create a PROJECT folder, which will hopefully merely LIST the DATES thereof, along with ONE actual response. So, here goes Nuttin’ Honey!
Between 2/27/07 and 2/28/08 - 12 months, received approximately, the following:
Senator Barbara Mikulski - 3 Actual replies because I took the time to go to her actual Website, find the CONTACT ME spot, and Entered data there. As her ‘normal’ email address became DEFUNCT, about 20 or so Automated replies telling me to go to the website INSTEAD:

Suffice it to say that now, on March 4th, 2008 -
I FINALLY ADMIT DEFEAT - I GIVE UP! UNCLE!
I can now DELETE their addresses from my list with a clear conscience, along with the voluminous file that I labeled DEAF EARS!

While I DO continue to sign Petitions and Emails sponsored by larger entities, as they are obviously more powerful, I shall no longer waste my time sending individual comments, or complaints -
DEAF EARS DO NOT CARE!

P.S. - same thing with both Governor and Mayor -
they REMOVE their direct email addresses, and every time you want to SPEAK OUT, must go to their website first, then do a search mission to FIND the CONTACT ME button, and then get either an auto-reply of how important your input is, or NO REPLY!
Alas, these are all I ever get back; I could wallpaper my garage with them. And the idiotic computer generated letters drive me insane: "Thanks for voicing your concern about this important issue (Which they don't even name), and if you are ever in Washington, please stop by to dicuss this; we'll have coffee and donuts."
Politics as usual - sad to say. They don't give a rip - they have to worry about getting their annual cost of living raise - mine went up $5.00. Whoo - hooo - do you think we can get a can of food with that? Certainly not milk - SHAME!
Guess I'm fortunate to live where I can call 2 Senators and 3 Representatives of Fed. Congress. They usually hear from me every couple months (I find out when they'll be in their local offices by just watching the local newscasts :o) Take a tip I learned a while back: If you want to talk to the Mayor, go to City Council Meetings..he/she can't hide from you there! Always a way for the sneeky-Pete...
