Hi - I know you didn't mean that - you are too much of a gentleman to object. It just made me think that the title was more apropos for you to be able to use, should you so choose.
Don't know if it aired in your neck of the woods, but when my kids were little, here in Maryland there was a children's show on TV called Hodge Podge Lodge. It was a real location, just a little one room building, set in a scenic woodsey surrounding, with a lady who had a bunch of kids all gathered around each day, telling stories and such.
While I do like the rhyme of the title, would not want Channel 67, or someone to accuse me of any Copyright infringement.

You are certainly right about the ratios, but the ODDS are more in our favor now - more of these MILLIONS are getting involved because of the Internet, and more 'grass roots' organizations are rallying people - SO, DON'T GIVE UP JUST YET!
Last night, I completed an online SURVEY involving OPINIONS - all about Presidency, and choices, and WHO & WHY you felt that way - was pretty good, and actually was INTELLIGENT, and allowed for COMMENTS in each section - I SPOKE MY PIECE!
The night before, saw Jesse Ventura on Jay Leno show - he is ROUGH, BLUNT, but DIRECT and TO THE POINT - in about only 10 minutes, he encapsulated EVERYTHING WE BELIEVE IN ... Would vote for him in a heartbeat also!
Speaking of sheer NUMBERS, he said he wished that there was a choice on the ballot of NONE OF THE ABOVE - when the audience laughed, he admonished them, saying - if the MAJORITY of MILLIONS of people purposely CHOSE AGAINST BOTH RULING PARTIES, it would sound a resounding message through the halls of Congress.
If only we could get SOMEONE - ANYONE - from a THIRD party in office - INDEPENDENT - GREEN - HELL, ANY OTHER COLOR - would be a step in the right direction - - -
I have NEVER regarded myself as a Socialist, or communist, or any other Radical group - but now, as I approach 68, I am so sick of these GREEDY CAPITALIST BASTARDS - i think I'd vote for MICKEY MOUSE - at least he would care about CRITTERS!

Would that the so-called disenchanted thugs, hoodlums, and gang-bangers here in America would take the time to read and learn about the plight of others in other countries. Perhaps they would then realize what great opportunities exist for them to become honest, productive, peaceful citizens.
Someone once wrote that - "your freedom ends where my nose begins." Which, basically means that you are free to do just about anything, EXCEPT punching or hurting another, in any way. The 'drive-by' shootings of innocent children and other victims, is just as heinous as any other act of war, or genocide. Freedom is not a wild, un-tethered Mustang - rather, it is a gentle Mare, with invisible, but conscious Reins!
Peace and Freedom have never been FREE - they require a Compassion for Humanity, a deep feeling of Love for one's Brothers and Sisters, no matter how Different, and an ever-present Desire to employ both Empathy and Sympathy. For this to be achieved, the negative of Apathy must be overcome!
The song lyrics - "He ain't heavy, he's my brother" come to mind. Also, from the Prayer of Saint Francis - "...if there is to be Peace, let it begin with me..."
Peaceful Freedom somehow does not just flow forth freely -it must be strived for - worked at - remembered and reminded to others - each and every day. Like all other worthwhile goals, it requires intestinal fortitude, as well as, a caring heart - like YOURS!
Write on dear Ed, just all this is truth many people don't want to hear. Oh that we would have a 3rd party candidate. I would vote for them in minute. As of now, not absolutely not voting for either of them. Not really worth my time. Enjoyed these writes and will look for more. The title if good too.

A True Multi-Party System - with very distinct platforms and goals, I think would be a good idea. But, of course, we'll never see that, and we will be stuck with a so called 'two party' system in which nothing ever seems to get done, and in which it's often hard to tell the difference these days.
