original thank you Donna Douglas
rest in peace my thoughts and blessings are with you and your family
Elly May looked up and saw her friends and family around her, She then was laying still then in a coffin tryng to pretend she was dead,it came to a decision mainly from herself to do this because the critters she took care of were in fact then becoming much for everyone to handle they tried getting rid of them but they wouldn't go. So she had figured that pretending she was dead maybe they would leave, but in order to make it work she needed everyone help, her father had put up the money for a fake funeral as everyone showed up that knew her,it had to be real. As real as can be expected of a funeral. But it had to seemed real too then the animals, her father got up pretending to be behind a podium and started making a speech as even Mr Dryadale showed up to.
Now animals are like people to they do not like death or the smell of it, just like a smell of a skunk, speaking of those stinky critters as her brother called them, one crawled onto the coffin and sat there next to Elly. Now who was to stop a skunk from doing what he wanted ,no one Granny wanted to object but Jed stop her, this then too had to work, but there seemed to be more criers then human so the humans were pushed out of the way outside now the critters stood looking at one another they knew death too,and this wasn't it,they felt Elly's heart beating .Suddenly as the critters all at once started hummimg ,a hymn,
a low soft humming at first then it got louder, Elly hearing this could not deceive her friends any more. ' Stop,' said Elly sitting upright careful putting the skunk down,' That is nice the hymn and all, but we were lying too you, then the animals seem to understood her,' We have no more room for all of you, even my baby critters, we then have to eat too, 'she started crying hating lying, especially to critters or children. But it seemed to work, the critters understood, two by two they left still humming the hymn,as the humans gathered around Elly seeing she was alive Elly got out of the coffin,' It work,pa,'she cried,'you think they'll be alright.' Jed hugging his daughter only smiled nodded and started singing the same hymn the animals did . Elly was sad for weeks afterward but looking at the coffin made her a better person inside and out.
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
