12^th Anniversary

Today was Barbara’s and my 12^th wedding anniversary. After having dinner out we drove to the Gunpowder Friends Meeting House where we were married, arriving about the same time as our wedding was. We sat in the car on lower parking lot overlooking the rural countryside and the west porch of the historic, stone meeting house where we had the ceremony as the sunset that evening. As we held hands and remembered our vows a crow sat directly in front of the car and very attentively watched us.

What was originally to be a romantic end to our day turned very spiritual as I could feel a presence coming from that bird that was telling me something that I wasn’t sure about until when getting home I read Ted Andrews explanation of the crow in his book Animal Speaks. “Wherever crows are there is magic. They are symbols of creation and spiritual strength. They remind us to look for opportunities to create and manifest the magic of life. They are messengers calling to us about the creation and magic that is alive within our world everyday and available to us.”

I read Mr. Andrews’ statement to Barbara who agreed and reminded me that as we left there were two more crows flying overhead magically swooping and twirling about in the air.
