there are abilities even in disabilities...that what this story is all about
Macbeth lived a life of anguish and pain, she was never opportune to see the trees, birds, her mates at school and even her parents. 20 years ago she was born with eyes that had no retina, and that had left her in perfect darkness. Her blindness has caused a great deal of misery and pain than good for her until Bobby Kent came into her life, looking beyond her disability and got married to her. giving her every reason to remain grateful for her situation.
His love for her was so unending, that he quitted his nine-hour job at the local factory just to be there for his wife. Though she couldn't see her husband, but she saw beyond what a full sighted person could ever see. His description of the early morning sun, the cries of the birds, the bloom of life, street cars blaring horns, the tidal waves of the sea, had made her the happiest person in earth.
she had never seen angels but she didn't have the need to see one. Bobby was more than angelic to her. in just three years, he brought so much joy and happiness she had been denied in twenty years and they were blessed with a son. "He's so beautiful. Just as you are." he had muttered into her eyes after her delivery. Those words had made a dying wish surge through her. she just did not want to hear those words. she wanted to see them - the beauty of her son.
Twenty years into their marriage, at midnight on the eve of a thursday, God gave Macbeth her sight for just twenty four hours, and with great joy she saw her guardian angel. The man who had the backs of his family turned against him for marrying her. "you must be cursed." his mother had yelled. She saw the man who painted the beautiful trees on her empty cones and rods, the man who brought the roses in the vase for her to sap in the sweet savour. She placed her hands on the stubble she had only felt and traced for twenty years. now she could see in it's blondness. She traced it, with her small but finely knitted fingers. Bobby shuddered in delight. She reached out to his chest. How broad and lovely. she diffused his tall, lean, golden tan frame. All muscle. no fat.
She saw her only handsome and seventeen year old son for the first time in her life, but sad enough she could only see her parent's grave.
Her husband and son were filled with joy until after her sight was reverted to blindness, and she wept bitterly. Her husband's comforting words were these ' God wants you to lead a pure and holy life throughout your days by shutting your eyes to the things of this world, but opening them to eternal things, I want you to know that you've achieved greater things than a full sighted human could ever dream of'
It is dangerous for someone without a disability to write about someone with a disability because of the many misconceptions people have of disability. For example, as some sort of defense for not having a disability, many people, especially those of faith, think that having a disability means that someone is "special" or "blessed."
While it is true that people of disability find ways to overcome their disability with ingenuity and hard work, there is nothing blessing about having a disability limiting one's life in some way.
Your story about a 24 hour period of release from blindness is totally hypothetical and unrealistic. More realistic would've been being born with cataracts that were removed at a later age giving sight to someone who had lived without sight for many years. There is a doctor from Nepal that is giving site to thousands in Asia every year.
