A humorous story about a family of mice
on Christmas Eve.
"It's just a piece of cheese, think we can take it?" papa mouse asked
his little crew of four. "Come let's quickly hide behind the door"
With eyes as big as saucers they espied a big hunk of cheese sitting
on the kitchen table. The bright lettering read "Casa Del Formagio"
(house of cheese) Gigi giggled and gave a little snort. "It must have been
hard to pull out a big cheese like that out of a little pint house. " Mama
batted her lashes and in a sagely muskrat voice replied, "Gigi, the cheese
house must be HUGE, the size of Aunt May's bungalow I'm sure.
It was the night before Christmas and the family all slept soundly in bed.
All but Luigi, who dreamed of a nice salami and cheese sandwich for a
nice midnight snack.
Meanwhile, from a little hole in the wall scurried five razor visioned mice
and did a square dance on a wood table. They weren't able to lift the huge
cheese so they opted to knaw it up and down leaving holes here and there
until it was well you know, manageable. Too stuffed too lift any kind of load,
they shuffled back belly stretched and bushy eyed into their little bungalow
for five.
Luigi got out of bed stuck ten toes in his cordoroy slippers and went to make
himself a sandwich. "Hmmm, mamma bought swiss cheese" he self soothed
and munched on his salami/ cheese delight.
Back to bed he goes but he can't sleep. (I wonder why? Da,!)
He opens a story book. You guessed it. "Twas The Night Before Christmas"
and if you guys and dolls know your Xmas tales then you know the rest,
"and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."
Well fellow Musketeers, we all know that it ain't so.
Merry Christmas everyone, and for the love of God, HIDE YOUR CHEESE....
I enjoyed this, Mystic, thanks for sharing. By the way, your submission date...11/19?...is my birthday! Love, Blessings And Faith...Joyce * His Inspirations
Always wondered where all those holes came from in cheese?
Last night I watched the Kilcher family Thanksgiving show on Alaska, The Last Frontier. Atz and Jane were digging up wonderful red skinned potatoes for their contribution to the feast when they discovered a mound with all of the potatoes all chewed up. They Suspected that it was slugs until suddenly, fat mice started to pop up out of the dirt they were digging and run off. They laughed and let them grow. Never heard of mice liking potatoes, with those fat guys sure did.
