They hurt him so bad that the veterinarian didn't think he would live.
But Monroe was brave! He fought to stay alive and because he did, the veterinarian decided to help him do just that!
But he was hurt in such a way that his back legs wouldn't move.
Soon a nice lady heard about Monroe and brought him a doggie wheelchair.
Now Monroe could go anywhere. Sometimes he even ran!
But he wasn't content to use a doggie wheelchair.
Monroe was so brave that he worked hard to move his back legs.
Before long he surprised everyone when they saw his legs move!
Eventually his legs were strong enough that he could walk without his wheelchair!
He couldn't walk real well but that was okay with him. He didn't need the doggie wheelchair outside where his feet could grip the grass. Only inside where the floors were slippery.
The veterinarian told two ladies about Monroe and how special he was.
Shortly thereafter the two ladies took him home and taught him to love peanut butter right from the jar!
Now everyone saw how wonderful he was. He was brave and determined to get better.
Sweet dog that has nine lives. This is why we should never give up on an animal without giving it a last chance to live, and this dog was determined to fight all odds. I'm so glad she can walk again!
