Gramps took a long look at the sun bestowing light on a golden rice field below my house. My house was located near a cliff, hidden behind a huge rock. Every day the sun dropped behind the horizon of fields and crops. This had always been the view from my garden. Gramps and I were sitting on the garden bench. He closed his eyes, and his face was full of contentment. For a moment, it seemed as if he was fading and merging into the background. He took a breath and smiled at me, eyes still closed.
“That tickled.”, he said.
“When will you be leaving, Gramps?”, I asked him.
“When is your sister coming?”, he countered me with a question.
“Vera’s gonna be here? Really?”, I queried. My sister, Vera, who’s three years older than I was the only one in the family who chose to have a life different from the rest of us. She wanted a normal life where there wasn’t much responsibility, no etheric and out of this world missions to focus on. The reason why I chose this specific space and time segment to live in was her. Vera’s frequency was pure love.
“Your sister, every time she enters a room, flowers bloom.”, Gramps said so sweetly. “I miss your sister, grandson. I’m glad you chose this timeline.” Gramps reached his long arm at me and drew me in closer. He kissed my forehead. “But, she has to leave this state of love of hers. She’s on a decay, stagnant.”
“Gramps, she wants a simple Earth life.”
“She chose eternity! With her soul personality, she has blossomed long before, awakened long before!”, Gramps exclaimed as if defeated in his own mental rumblings.
“Shut up, old man!”
Both gramps and I were startled. We slowly turned our heads towards the backdoor, synchronically stood up and held our arms wide open.
“Vera!”, we happily yelled at the woman standing 5 feet 9 inches tall. She had long wavy hair, fit body. She was wearing khaki shorts, hiking boots, and a brown hat.
“You summoned for me, Grandfather? Oh my god! My boss gave me an immediate leave.”, she exasperated while walking down the two step stairs getting closer to us.
“Vera, you hiked your way up here?”, I inquired.
“Yes, Theo.”
“Alone?”, Gramps asked flabbergasted.
“You two, stop it.”
“You know you didn’t have to climb all the way here. It’s a three-day hike, sis! You could have just do what I do.”
“Wait, your sister already gained that ability?”, it was Gramps.
“Yes, a long time ago, Grandfather, long time ago, even way before I did.”
“Oh, that hurt. I feel left out. How long have you been hiding this, Vera.”
“You should know, Gramps. You’re a watcher.”, I told him.
“I no longer need to tell you. According to my boss at work, you died. You painted a damn well dramatic scene, too. Poor guy can’t stop crying.”
Gramps, Vera and I stopped and looked at each other. We all erupted in laughter.
“Burn in hell, grandfather.”, said Vera.
“We already are planted in hell. This is hell, our individual job is to turn it into heaven.”
Theo. It was a woman’s voice that I heard before.
“Theo, hello. Grab us some drinks, will you?”, Vera commanded.
I snapped out from my mini reverie and went inside the house.
“I hope I am not interrupting anything.”
We looked back at who it was. It was Erik walking towards us.
“I knocked and knocked. Nobody was answering.”, he explained.
“Come on over here. We are having some tea.”, Gramps said.
Erik stared at our hands. Vera was holding a glass of wine, a beer was in my hand, and Gramps was holding a tea cup.
“Hi Erik.”, Vera greeted him.
“You know each other?”, I asked her.
Vera shot me a dismayed look. “No, but I know you and more than anyone in this world, I am most connected to you. You are my brother.”
“Right, you keep barging into my thoughts.”, I simply told her.
“I am only looking out for you, Theo.”
“When did you again gain that ability?”, it was Gramps.
“Long time ago.”, we chorused.
“What? Vera-“, Gramps took hold of her shoulder and they went to the garden side.
“Oh, great. What do we have this time, Erik?”, I asked while glancing at the two right at the corner having a discussion.
He gave me a small glass box. Within it was a piece of silver metal resembling a snowflake. “The worlds’ seal, deliver that to Mr. Oshagu Watara.”
I had the box in my hand and felt its presence. I marveled at how intricately detailed up to the tiniest curves and corners the metal snowflake was. There was tremendous energy compacted in this small device. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and begun detecting for Mr. Oshagu Watara. He was in his Japanese samurai attire with a katana on his side. His hair was also brushed up. He was carrying so much power, control, and conviction in him.
“Wait.”, I told Erik.
“You have questions, Theo?”
“He’s a watcher?”, I confirmed.
“He is. They can’t detect him, at least the real him. He keeps appearing in a thousand worlds at the same time. All of which are mere copies of him, but not him.”
“Strange. Gramps!”, I called out to my grandfather. “Oshagu Watara.”
“He’s one of us, a watcher and a high ranking official.”
I refocused my attention back on Mr. Oshagu Watara. Where are you hiding? I felt once more his unique frequency. I allowed the feel of his energetic fingerprint to lead me to him. Got ’cha. He was trapped in a cold dark place, and I was hearing the continuous dripping of water. In seconds, my surroundings started to fade. It’s colors and hues were disappearing. The points, lines, and columns were transforming to the cave that cradled Mr. Oshagu Watara.
Great job, Theo. It was Erik.
“What the-“ I scratched my head looking at him. He was formless without perimeters. He was a floating light inside a glass ball. I snatched the ball and threw it on the floor. The glass shattered into pieces releasing him. His light lit up the entire cave for a quick second. Then, he immediately focused his consciousness to project his Japanese samurai appearance.
He came out laughing and standing proudly. “My my messengers, your skills surely are commendable!”
“Thank you, Mr. Oshagu Watara.”
“No, Theo, thank you. I believe you have something for me.”
I handed him the worlds’ seal device. He took it and grinned at me.
“I believe we are done here.”, I reluctantly told him.
“Yes.”, and Mr. Oshagu Watara disappeared from my sight.
That was quick. I shifted my attention back to my garden. When I opened my eyes, I was still inside the cave. I did it once more, gave the natural tones of reality that I was already in garden back with my family. I was hearing Gramps and Vera’s bickering, making there here, but nothing happened. Erik. There was no response from him. I checked my surroundings and felt the enclosure I was in. He had imprisoned me inside the glass ball.
“Something isn’t right.”, Gramps uttered. “Did you feel that?”, he asked Vera.
“A change in the frequency.”, she answered.
“That feels heavy.”, said Erik.
“Where’s Theo?”, Gramps asked Erik.
“I lost communication with him. I can’t reach him.”
“What was the package?”, he asked him.
“Worlds’ seal. If he had delivered it, there shouldn’t be this sudden change in the energetic atmosphere.”, explained Erik.
“I’ll check.”, Gramps transformed and projected himself as a well-respected affluent Datu with golden bangle earrings and bracelet. He was wearing an open chested unbuttoned dirty white chaleco made of Abaca and dirty white pants made of the same material. He was barefoot. “I’ll be back.”, and he disappeared.
“Ugh- so dramatic, Grandfather.”
“I’ll track down, Mr. Watara.”, Erik stated.
“And I’ll search for my brother.”
Vera immediately sat on the bench, closed her eyes, and started scanning for his brother. Erik sat beside her and did the same. He was feeling for Mr. Oshagu Watara, trying to sense his location.
“Oh this is not good.”, uttered Erik.
“You found him?”, Vera asked, eyes closed.
Erik saw Mr. Watara was wreaking havoc to multiple parallel worlds. He had been making interdimensional tears that its inhabitants can pass through without them knowing. The different frequencies of one world to the next was starting to infect each other.
“He had created so many openings in between worlds.”, said Erik. “If this continues on, the inhabitants of one place can change the frequency of the other.”
“Why would the Watchers’ send him the Worlds’ Seal when he’s the one creating the openings?”
“They probably didn’t know. Their job is to assist people waking up and gaining awareness. Mr. Watara is giving people the shortcut to that.”
“Well someone got tired of his job.”, said Vera.
“Anything on Theo?”
“I am still feeling for his signature frequency.”
I tried again and again to get out of the enclosure I was in but to no avail. I could not communicate outside. I was barred from reaching anyone.
Theo. I heard that before. It was a woman’s voice. I found you.
Leyla. I uttered.
I searched for you, in every frequency, every world in this wheel of recurrence. You messengers make it seem like you are nonexistent! She snapped at me.
How can you communicate with me? I asked her.
I created that glass ball you are in. She confided.
Help me out. I demanded her. I need help. I told her sarcastically.
I turned off its ability to restrict communication. I must go.
Leyla! I yelled at her as the glass was shattered into pieces releasing me instantly. Vera was standing in front of me, smiling widely.
“That was too easy.”, she exclaimed. “Let’s go back, dear brother.”
New mission, Theo. Worlds’ seal retrieval. It was Erik. And I’m coming with you.
Coordinates, Erik. Erik mentally sent me Mr. Oshagu Watara’s location. He was on another timeline, sitting by the river, hand over his katana, and was about to make another slice in the space time continuum. Erik immediately jumped into Mr. Oshagu Watara, but he was too late. An opening was made by him.
“You guys work, fast!”, shouted Mr. Oshagu Watara at Erik.
In an instant, the glass box containing the Worlds’ Seal transferred to Erik’s hands.
“Theo!”, he shouted at me and passed me the box. With my good reflexes, I was able to catch it. “New recipient, Theo. Check the box.”, Erik pointed out.
That meant, Mr. Oshagu Watara could no longer lay his hands on the device. It would disintegrate automatically. I checked the name of the new recipient. It was Valerio Vergara. It made me chuckle for a bit.
“Grandson, hand me the device!”, it was Gramps calling my name behind me.
I threw it at him.
“No!”, Mr. Oshagu Watara shouted. He was unable to move. Erik still got a hold of him.
Gramps easily caught the box. Once he got it, he immediately disappeared.
Mr. Oshagu Watara raised both his hands as form of surrender. He shook his head disappointingly. “I was only trying to help the souls awaken from their deep deep slumber. Every day they are running towards distraction after distraction. Their thoughts composed mainly of endless loop of self-justifications. Perhaps finding themselves in a different environment can stimulate their awareness.”
“Every day, a lot of people are gaining more and more awareness of who they are in this universe.”, Erik told him.
“No, I’m tired of watching them day in day out, reenact the same play again and again. There may be so many worlds within worlds within worlds, but still only a small percent has discovered that they can rescript this divine play and finally make the exit out of the wheel of recurrence. I don’t like it that we are only able to assist once that spark of awareness becomes triggered in them, only to have that light be dimmed down once again because they are more at home with the furnaces of their own hell.”
“We are planted in hell and it is up to us-“, I was telling him as what I remembered from Gramps, but Mr. Oshagu Watara cut me off.
“Yes, yes- but after a thousand years of being in the same play, one would think, they probably had enough of this hell. I am wrong. I am sick of waiting for these souls to mature and take control of their minds and think for themselves. They are all addicted to collecting sympathies rather than traversing their minds to build a new character, develop conviction, patience, hope, faith, discipline. These are just some of the grandest jewels of Gods.”
“Mr. Oshagu Watara, free will.”, I told him. He grinned at me and left.
Gramps stood at the peaks watching over worlds within worlds within worlds. Each of them had their own energetic frequency. In his hand was the Worlds’ Seal device. He threw it like a ninja would a shuriken. It dismantled on its own and reproduced more of itself. It sought out the thousand tears created by Mr. Oshagu Watara’s katana and wove them back together. Thus, sealing those artificial portals once again.
Good job, Grandfather. It was Vera telepathically communicating with Gramps. She was seeing what our dear Gramps was doing.
“Well, back to traditional travelling. The soul’s ticket to the next parallel reality is to match the frequency of that world.”, Gramps stated.
What happens now to Mr. Oshagu Watara? I asked Gramps.
“He’s back in the Watchers’ Department.”, was his short reply.
“Apparently, what he did, Theo, created changes. It did wake some souls up. They felt how it was to be in a different state of consciousness that isn’t their normal. Some felt uncomfortable but some simply got fed up with their previous state. When they were in their new frequency, they got new ideas to try out in their lives. Yes, some are willing to follow through these hunches, some are not. But- it’s a start.”, explained Vera.
“How’d you know all that?”, Erik asked.
“I felt it. I am seeing some sparks lit up. It is beautiful. They are all back now to their respective worlds. However, their inner vision to see probabilities had been rekindled which had been dimmed down by bitterness, hurt, and getting lost in the darkness. Maybe this time they’ll be brave enough, not to argue with the world, but conquer their demons within.”
In my mind, I saw Gramps smiling widely hearing Vera’s every word. He was dancing on his own, happily waltzing at the peaks.
The end. Thank you so much. Enjoy your day.
