Awareness of personal Mental Health issues can beg the first step to addressing a recovery plan
After the wedding Dominic Estos explained to his new wife Wendy that he needed to go away for few days . He packed a bag and left on foot to the hospital . Dominic had been living with a Bi Polar disorder since his teenage years and was very aware when he was about to have an episode that could result in him getting very aggressive to anyone close to him so instead of upsetting his new wife with his problem he had booked himself into a hospital to have some treatment for his mental health problem .
The staff at hospital were very aware of Dominic and his condition and admired how he was able to understand and address his condition when ever he needed help .
Dominic usually could return to normal after a few weeks with the right medication and group therapy that the hospital provided .
His wife also noticed the signs when Dominic was depressed so because she loved him she could accept the condition he had to live with .
In the nightmare world Dominic went through he often needed to have treatment . Without proper medication and therapy in his mind those closest to him would became his enemies which tormented everyone concerned.
He walked nervously along the sidewalk with his overnight bag feeling like a cat inside a dog pound . The walls were closing in around him and his thoughts began to drift into a dark place somewhere between paranoia and delusion . Life was hard but he was doing the best he could for himself and the people he loved . He headed down through the corridors of the hospital to the mental health unit and was given
a bed in a ward with a few other patients . Living with his condition sometimes he never knew who he was but the staff at the hospital were always able to assist Dominic on his journey to recovery . Although Wendy wanted to visit him the staff at the hospital advised her to allow Dominic to have some time on his own .
The first few days was always difficult but gradually there was a change from him thinking that no one gave a damn to a change of thinking that there were people who cared about him and even
someone who loved him .
When that moment came he knew that it was almost time to return back to his normal life outside . So after some group therapy Dominic was allowed to leave the hospital .
He walked out from the hospital grounds with only one thought in his mind , to get back into the arms of the woman he loved .
It was a new day and the dark night had left and the birds were singing in his ears . He felt at ease and happy with life. It was time to live and love again. He felt ok about who he was and saw the light of a new day .
When he returned home Wendy put her arms around him and she said .
“It’s time now for you and I “.
He looked at her and said ,
“I’ve bought new home for us in another town . Let’s go Ibesntbuiu to see it today .”
After breakfast he took the car keys and brought Wendy to see their new dream home near the beach . They were making a new start together again .
