The dew drops were still on the grass when the children raced to the car.They piled in and waited for the grownups. They walked slowly ever so slowly to the car. The three oldest children sat in the back seat. While mother, father and the smallest child sat in the front.

 The car started and pulled away from the house. We drove lots of miles in the early morning sunshine. We drove up hills and down hills. We changed roads so many times that we were lost and it was only noon. It was crowded in our car but we didn't care we were on vacation. What ever vacation was?

 We stopped and ate by the side of the road. There were tables, grass and a bathroom at this place they called a roadside park. But it didn't have any swings or slides, nothing that I had seen in a park. After we ate and ran around playing tag mother and father said we had to get back in the car and drive some more.

 I asked mother if we were there yet but she kept saying not yet and I kept asking her until she finally said,"I'll tell you when we get there and don't ask again". I never thought vacation would take this long.

We finally got to this beautiful place that was down in a holler and that was funny too. We didn't know anything about a holler except that it was supposed to be loud and long. We drove down a long dirt road that kept winding this way and that way. Finally we were at the end of the mountain and at the bottom was a lot of little cabins. A man told dad to drive over to the biggest cabin because there was so many of us this cabin was the only one that would hold us all.

  Then we saw it right there beside our cabin. The water sparkled like diamonds in the evening sun. We jumped out of the car and ran over to see our very own pool. We had never had our own pool before. We just stood there and watched the cool water ripple on the sides of the pool.

This was going to be our BEST vacation ever. There in the holler in a cabin with a swimming pool. The only question now was ---- DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SWIM?
