A humorous look at the world of the student of dance from a parent's perspective.

So You Think Your Kid Can Dance? takes a humorous look at the world of the young student in dance.  From the superstitions they follow, to the costumes, the competitions, shows, camps...you will be entertained.  This book will not only appeal to families who have kids in dance.  If your child is involved in any activity, be it sports, competitive games, performing arts, or music, there is something funny in this book for you.  The book also addresses how we are raising our kids in this fast-paced, every-minute-should-be-accounted-for and competitive world.  It reflects on the expectations we have set for them versus the realities of the "real world."  It is written from a mother's perspective and will be enjoyed by any parent, teacher, or coach.

Excerpt

We came together because of the dance - these women and I. But it quickly became a coming together of the dance of life. We have birthed babies, raised children buried love ones, wedded our children and watched them start the cycle again. When we started we were the dancers - young, beautiful , talented and inspired. We are now the elders - looking at ourselves in the gracefulness of the youth. These stories are about mothers and daughters in the exciting world of dance.
