Chapter I
Majestic Mayhem
The last snowflake of the storm descended silently upon a lone snow bank in the frozen
terrain.
“I see more paw prints,” the tall, skinny man said. The dark one next to him nodded in agreement.
“Those do not belong to tigers,” the tracker chastised as he peered down at the huge bear
tracks, “Amur’s prints are much wider.”
He stood still for what seemed like a half an hour; only his eyes moved, darting
purposefully across the wintry landscape. Then, he slowly cocked his head to one side as
a grin painfully threatened to crack his wind chapped lips.
“This way,” he whispered.
The two men followed; the tall one closest behind the tracker.
“Wait, did you hear that?” the dark man asked in a hushed whisper.
“Hear what?” the tall one grunted.
Just then, a loud earsplitting growl was unleashed. It was so deafening that the tracker
remained frozen where he stood. He managed to lift his arms in an effort to break the
force of the blow, but Motka’s blow was one that would not be blocked. With one swipe
of his enormous paw, he had done away with the tracker.
