This non-fiction book reveals little know details about American Indian soldiers who used their native languages in two world wars to send secret messages that were never decoded by enemy forces.

Using first-hand interviews with American Indian code talkers from three tribes (Choctaw, Comanche and Navajo) as well as research conducted in the National Archives and military museums, this easy-to-read book provides little known information about these brave men. The book also covers the Code Talker Recognition Act passed by Congress in 2008, which very few Americans know about. Near the end, the author examines the state of Native American languages, of which many are almost extinct, and asks readers to think about what might have been the military outcomes of two world wars if missionaries and government agents had been successful in their attempts at eliminating these languages.
