A great way to enjoy video poker. Three book in one – Learning Video, Surviving Video, and Enjoying Video Poker.

I believe that this is the best video poker available! I have read most of them, and they all had their good points, but they all also were lacking in some areas. After working on this project for over 17 years, I believe I have managed to fill in all of the important information missing from the other books as well as adding some very important information about how to make it out of a casino before you lose all of your money!

This volume is actually three books in one! Book 1 – Learning Video Poker; Book 2 – Surviving Video Poker; Book 3 – Enjoying Video Poker.

Book 1 contains all of the information in my original 2003 book but adds a massive amount of additional information, all presented in an easy to follow and easy to understand format to help you master the basic video poker game of Jacks or Better as well as most of the popular variations such as Bonus Poker, Deuces Wild and Joker Poker, plus many more games!

Book 2 is full of tips about things that can go wrong during your play causing you to lose all your money before you win anything. It discusses distractions, quarks of the games, randomness, logical playing habits, common sense and a whole lot more. If you have read this book before you play, you will see trouble coming and have time to quit before all is lost!

Book 3 talks about how there is more to gambling than putting money into a machine. When you are in a casino or a resort destination such as Las Vegas, there is so much more to see and do, so drag yourself from the video poker machine and enjoy all that is available to you. Also discussed are some alternate slot games you might enjoy for a change of pace

Words cannot describe all you will find in this new 3-volume book. My wife and I have been enthusiastically playing video poker for over 27 years and have made notes on every aspect of the game and the overall experience. We have compared notes, talked to other players and casino professionals, and then I have been writing and editing this new book since my last book was published in 2003. After 17 years total of working on this project, I finally feel that not only is it complete, I also believe there is no other book on video poker with so much to offer. If you are buying your first book, or if you want a book that is easy to follow, or if you only want to buy one book, then this is the one you should buy.

When I heard that Tom was writing this book, I asked if I could get a copy. He shared a pre-release version with me looking for comments and suggestions for improvement. After reading the book, I believe that there is not another book like this currently available because only someone with a complete and varied skill set such as what Tom possesses could have pulled off such a remarkable accomplishment.

Tom’s work in journalism shows that he knows how to research information and come up with the facts. Tom has also established himself as a professional writer by creating a monthly column for an international magazine as well as writing feature articles, product reviews, newspaper articles and working on a few other books in-progress. Tom’s interest in casino video poker goes back over 25 years.

But the part that makes this book unique is Tom’s 50 years of experience as a teacher. Just because someone writes a book doesn’t mean that everyone will understand and be motivated by the book. A professional teacher has a way of presenting the material in a way that not only informs, but also enlightens and demonstrates the usefulness and relevance of each topic. As a teacher myself, I can tell you how this important writing skill can make a difference between a book that presents information you can use every day versus a book that is simply read and then forgotten.

Tom’s varied skills combine to create a book that I believe everyone will enjoy, and more importantly, everyone should read this book before going back to the casino. Tom was bold enough to hit upon the whole truth of gaming, and that is that winning is only by luck, so the only real way to prepare to be a winner is to take caution and not allow yourself to be a loser. In other words, winning jackpots is left to fate, but your odds of entering a casino and hopefully not losing all your money can be improved by following the suggestions set forth in this book.

This book is a must, not only for video poker players but for all casino gamblers who are tired of coming home with empty pockets!
