Tommy Jacobs and his family are new in this small town called Mullins, North Dakota. Shortly after their arrival unexplained disappearances of pets and people begin to happen including Tommy's father. What has happened in this small town? Will Tommy discover the cause alone, or will he need the assistance of law enforcement officials? The only true link to this phenomena is based on an Indian legend from years before, but will this be enough?

Being awakened suddenly by crashing thunder, Tommy was ripped from sleep early next morning. He heard his parents in their living room talking about the weather. While he dressed to join them, Tommy thought there would be no way yard work could be done today. Tommy knew his mother had meant their grass needed cutting, along with placing her outdoor décor on their lawn.
Tommy joined his parents and said, “Well Mom, doesn’t look as if we will be yard working.”
“No, not today Tommy,” Martha said, “Nevertheless, your father and I need to finish our drafting for the new mall blue prints. Then we will have to drive into Monterey, to deliver them for the project. I just never liked traveling during rain or storms. Would you like to come with us?”
“No thanks Mom, even though I would like to be a drafting engineer soon, I would like the opportunity of vacation time first.” Tommy said as he went to eat breakfast.
Thunder began to decrease, however the rain continued throughout the day in this little community town called Mullins. With the storm now passed, William and Martha informed Tommy they would return in the afternoon, then started for Monterey. With his parents gone, this would give Tommy opportunity to explore this small town, learning where certain stores and restaurants were located.
He opened the coat closet, removing a rain jacket to wear for protection, while he walked towards town. Locking the door behind him, Tommy began his walk into town, stopping to look across the lake, while watching raindrops plummet onto it’s surface causing multiple ripples. As he gazed across the vast lakefront, whether it was the sudden wind gust, or something unknown, an eerie feeling crept over Tommy with a chill even cooler than the rain.
