Ruby of the Realms is a middle-grade Fantasy/Adventure novel that follows a small dog, Ruby, through her journeys in the underground world known as The Six Realms. Ruby must travel through the realm of Rocia, where perils are around every corner. Her goal is to go back home and reunite with her beloved family. But every time Ruby comes a little closer to her goal, she is set back by unforseen obstacles. Worst of all, an ancient evil has risen in the jail of the Merlecats, The Diamond Dust Desert. Will Ruby return back home? What plans does this ancient evil hold for her? What is happeneing to The Six Realms?

The Ozzixite leader vibrated, agitated by the assault. Claws clicked on the wood as the Merlecat walked back towards the door it came from. But suddenly, the Merleact froze in its tracks. It lifted its head, sensing something was amiss. Ruby was seized by fear. Had it sensed they were hiding in the room with it? What could she do against the Merlecat besides run? Questions raced through her mind, questions about what she should do now that it seemed the Merlecat had found her.
The Merlecat stood on that spot and sighed, "Pathetic."
Crash! Wood beams from the roof plowed into the room. An Ozzixite guard was ordered by its leader to strike the Merlecat. Black onyx arms flew at rapid speeds towards the Merlecat who stood there only watching the spear tipped arms come flying at his face.
