I read this without reading the first book, however, this book has its own story to tell. Nataisha has a beautiful writing style. There are abuses thrown in here and there, the story has its share of adult content as well, yet, they do not overpower the storyline. Reading the story was like watching a hollywood production....

Mr. Jenson let out a boisterous laugh saying, “Poor boy doesn’t want people to find out his mom’s a whore.”
“Maybe it is a good idea that I leave,” Kayla stammered, slowly attempting to get up.
“Sit your ass down, Kathy, you’ll leave when I tell you to leave,” he threatened, pointing to her.
“Dad, you need to chill out,” Raymond said, walking towards his dad.
“Oh, oh, so your mom goes and fuck someone your age and disgraces herself as a wife…a mom…or any type of woman with professional decencies and a wife and here you are, a boy, trying to justify her!” he drunkenly screamed.
“No dad, I just feel that there’s a better way to handle this without involving outsiders. Why don’t we all sit down and discuss a way to work this out,” Raymond reasoned.
Mr. Jenson paused, looked at his son, and then looked around the room. He then focused on Mrs. Jenson who was still in the corner sobbing.
“You know what, son, you’re right. I’ll show you exactly how I’m going to handle this.” He staggered over and stood over Mrs. Jenson as if he was about to help her up.
He unexpectedly grabbed her by the hair and attempted to drag her from the corner. She started yelling in agony while Raymond ran across the room to his mom’s aid and attempted to pull his dad from the tight hold.
“I’m going show this little cunt and that little cunt what happens when you sleep around,” Mr. Jenson bellowed in drunken rage as he forcefully pushed Raymond to the floor with one arm. With the attention momentarily off her, Kayla made a quick dash towards the door and did not attempt to look back. She ran to her car and quickly locked the door. She fumbled with the keys as she put them into the ignition. Mr. Jenson was on a mission to hurt someone and it damn sure was not going to be her. She hurriedly accelerated out of the driveway towards her home. This was more than she had bargained for.

Truly worth reading...
I read this without reading the first book, however, this book has its own story to tell. Hence, I guess, I haven't missed much by not reading the first one.
The story is about Kayla, a young, divorced, single mother. She can symbolise all women, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, race, country and language, who wish to live life according to their own terms.
The plot is simple, yet, it is unlike any routine romance. There are twists and turns that enhance the storyline.
All characters are as real aas they can be. You can meet them in daily life. The flaws, qualities, emotions, are those which are exhibited by real people. The best part is, nobody is perfect in this story.

To sum up, this story gave me a feeling that that one can be partially broken but never destroyed if one is strong. Also, the story title suggests that its a mirror-mirror situation, as in continuation of difficult times for Kayla. Well, I will surely read the first part now.
P.S - The ending hints at a sequel. I hope there is one!!!

Nataisha Hill has very good writing skills. Most of the content in 'Partially Broken Never Destroyed' is well-written. The story is about Kayla, a single mom, working hard to raise her son alone and we are told, is very dedicated to him, however he spends most of his time with Kayla's mom as we learn also about Kayla's many love interests. However, along with this image of Kayla, we also see her as a very angry young woman that appears willing to "throw down" and fight at a moments notice. As, Bryon, one of Kayla's boyfriend comments once..."Oh my gosh, do you really get pissed off that fast..." A question I had been asking myself throughout the book. The two sides of Kayla never come together for me, thus making the story appear splintered.
Then there is the adult content of the love scenes which I have no problem with and must say they were very well-written, but they were unnecessary for the story line and took away from the book instead of adding to the story. I found myself unsure which Kayla these sections were about, dedicated mom or young angry woman.
When the book then adds in comments about God and prayers, I became even more confused. The story just never came together as one continuing flowing plot that was easy to follow, although, as I said before there is some very well-written sections, just not as a whole.
