Armed
I draw strength from the Lord
In His mighty power,
Standing firm against all evil
In this, my final hour.
He�s given me a helmet
To protect what�s in my mind,
Turning thoughts that are in vain
To thinking that is divine.
He�s given me a breastplate
To protect a tender heart,
He removed all the hardness
When He gave me a new start.
He�s given me a girdle
That covers my loins with truth,
To ensure that what comes forth
Is worthy to be reproduced.
On my feet He�s placed sandals
That carry me in peace,
They keep me moving forward
Treading upon the beast.
He�s given me a shield
To deflect every dart,
The enemy�s flaming arrows
Shall never reach my heart.
He�s placed in my hand
The Spirit as a sword,
Sharper than any weapon
Is His mighty word.
My struggle�s not with flesh
But with principalities in the air,
Fighting not against my brother
But rather evil spirits dwelling here.

Ephesians 6:10-17 NIV
�Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the
full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil�s
schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against
the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark
world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done
everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled
around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and
with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of
peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you
can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet
of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.�

I was baptized in the Spirit in September 1995. On Thanksgiving that
same year I ran across Ephesians 6. I heard the Spirit prompting me to
put on the armor of God every day. I didn�t realize at the time I was
about to enter into my first intense season of spiritual warfare.
He has given us all we need to fight the good fight. We need only to be
obedient and do whatever He tells us to do.
