This interactive journal provides grievers the opportunity and tools to explore the many layers of grief, in their own way.
Grief is a journey...Grief is universal and yet so very intimate and private...Grief can bring forth new awareness and new levels of honesty, it you let it...Transformation is not just for butterflies.
This interactive journal is your guide through the maze of the grief process. While each person experiences grief in their own way, there are some common points of reference that can be used as signposts for the journey.
The metaphor of the life cycle of the butterfly provides the overall structure for this journal. Grievers may find themselves stuck in the cocoon of grief, but some may find that they are having problems breaking out of that cocoon, even though they know that is what they need to do. Other grievers may have reached the outside of the cocoon, but can't quite spread their wings and soar yet.
While this journal can be used from cover to cover, it can easily be entered at any page which feels appropriate for the individual griever.
There are plenty of blank pages for journaling and drawing.
This journal is an experience, a place to share where you are right now and to move on to the place you not only want to be but to where you deserve to be.
Spread Your Wings
Move Beyond Grief
Excerpt
Grief is a journey, much like the journey of the butterfly. The cocoon is the beginning, the place of rest and reflection and ultimate transformation...I invite you to honor your time in the cocoon. Explore your feelings...Grief is a process, not a condition or illness.
You are not your grief. The moment you realize this fat is the beginning of the rest of your life.
The beauty of the butterfly is absolutely magnificent. The incredible beauty often shrouds the courage and effort that preceded this miraculous transformation.

I just read through Sandy Clendenen's Move Beyond Grief Journal. I am deeply touched and impressed by the content. I wish this journal had been available or me when I was going through my grief process.
I am very glad this journal is now available for those who are grieving. The questions and exercises are practical and worthwhile. They reaffirm the transformative potential involved in the grieving process.

Move Beyond Grief Journal is better classified as an interactive exercise exploring and ultimately understanding the grief process. Sandy gives many lines of thought and leaves blank pages for you, the reader to fill in your own feelings, thoughts, emotions.
I am far removed from my grief but even in reading through this book now, I find so many compelling things to re-visit years out from loss. I believe this book will be an invaluable resource for everyone who grieves. A bold statement, as we will all find ourselves in that position at one time or another, sooner or later.
Destination Booksellers review of Move Beyond Grief Journal
Destinations Booksellers says: "This book would be a thoughtful gift instead of flowers for a grieving friend. When grief is fresh and one is paralyzed they need some assistance in making sense of the senseless. Often we live by the old societal messages that tell us to avoid, deny and abort all our erupting emotions and keep all those messy feelings to ourselves. That is, of course, the way to extend the length of the grief process. We need a map out of this wilderness. This book gives the reader an opportunity to explore, express and grow through this painful transition. This is a powerful but simple book to help you understand and process grief. Give it to a friend or to yourself and let it guide with wisdom on life's biggest unavoidable journey."
