This is a fast paced, wonderfully written adventure story of one little show cat and his travels. It has everything one could want from villains, vampires, and stormy seas to little girls and purrs galore. I just loved it, and I will would read it out loud to my grandchildren, if only I had some.

Bernie ran from the clearance into the woods, in the opposite direction from the fighting. He didn't look back. He know from the screaming and wailing hat Corkie was in a serious fight. Through the broken branches, twgs, dense fern, bushes and stones he scrambled. He had no idea of where he was running to as he struggled through the thick copse of brambles and bushes, spiky branches tugged at his coat leaving tufts of white fur on the spikes as he ran by.
Into the path, he ran. The path wasn't as clear as he thought but his progress was much quicker than before. The path was blocked by a dense gorse bush, there appeared to be no way through. Bernie halted. He looked around for another route. In the distance he could hear the fighting ....
