The Prophesy foretold her coming. She would be the most powerful Sensate in over two thousand years, and she would save them all. Three men wanted her, one captures her heart.
After the devastating loss of her parents in a freak accident, Alexandra obsesses over the mystery surrounding Teater Higgins, her great-great-grandfather. She searches a deserted farm for Teater’s gravestone, but fate intervenes and she plunges into a deep cistern.
Trapped, cold, and alone, she finds a warm stone that facilitates her escape and prompts dormant psychic abilities to emerge. Unable to grasp the full implications of this new transformation, mysterious Jediah Saffle draws her into a shimmering orb, exposes her to near-sensory overload, and, without speaking, tells her she is a Sensate.
The orb experience leaves Alexandra with more questions than answers, and as she considers her fate, an ancient Prophecy which predicts a dark future for the Sensates, comes to light. Beginning a psychic journey set in motion by her ancestor, she delves into her five senses and garners knowledge from centuries of heritage to become the most powerful Sensate in over two thousand years.
As her world shifts into one where many miraculous things are possible and moral boundaries are put to the test, three men impact the destiny of her birthright. Jediah waits two hundred-thirty years to claim her; another plans for nearly half a millennia to exact his revenge; and a third captures her to bend her will to his own.
LARKSPUR, the first book of the Sensate Nine Moon Saga is a full-length novel, which chronicles Alexandra’s introduction into the benevolent world of Sensates.

As she drew closer, she recognized the tall dark-haired man as the one who had caught her staring at his companion and had glared back at her in the diner. She slowed her pace and fidgeted with her pack. First, she had been caught staring, and now, trespassing; she wobbled on poor footing once again.
The older, shorter, sandy-haired man spoke. “Ms. Higgins, this is not a safe place for you to go poking around. People put up No Trespassing signs for a reason, not just to inconvenience you. Best you and your friend get in your little red Jeep and mosey on back the way you came.”
She frowned, strode toward him and stated firmly. “It’s important I find the cemetery and I’ll not be put off. I am a direct descendant of the Higgins family and need to learn as much as possible about my ancestor. My trail has run cold and this is the only place I can begin anew. I assure you, my intent is honest in nature. Are you the owner of this property?”
Her heart raced. The dark-haired man hadn’t taken his eyes off her since their arrival, nor had he moved an inch from his original stance. Throughout her mini-tirade, she glanced back and forth between the two men, and each time she caught the dark-haired man's eye, he seemed transfixed on her.
Not typically scrutinized so deeply, the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end, and heat crept up her neck reaching the follicles of her hair.
“No, ma'am, I'm not the owner; that would be...”
“Someone else,” said the dark-haired man, cutting him off.
His voice resonated in her ears. Looking directly at him she could barely breathe. She reminded herself to take in air.
Time stopped once again. All went still. Instantly she found herself alone with him in an orb of shimmering light. Millions of flickering rays nearly blinded her until she adjusted to the brightness. Devoid of all sound, quiet mocked the unprepared girl who felt as light as air. Before fear could take root, his beautiful nature pervaded her senses creating familiarity where none should exist. She absorbed the vastness of eternity and infinite compassion he exuded. Serenity overcame every other emotion and held her suspended, completely at peace.
