Perculator Rasmussen is face down, spread eagled on the floor of Meadow Lakes Retirement community. The back of his head is smashed in, his throat is cut, there's a nylon cord around his neck, a bullet hole in his jacket and a knife in his back.

"If he isn't, he'd better have damned good insurance," wiley Vondra said.

Mary Rose McGill hurried back after peeing in the woods. "I peed on a shoe!" she said loudly.
"It's OK, honey, just go down to the lake and rinse it off," Hadley said.
"No! I peed on a shoe!" Mary Rose said again.
"Mary Rose, we can throw it in the laundry when we get back," Robbie said.
Mary Rose grabbed her by the shoulders. "It wasn't my shoe!"
Mary Rose had found a dead body.
