True Emotions of a Man is a collective book of poetry inspired by real life events. Giving the world full access to my life and emotions, I present myself with pure transparency and vulnerability. Be prepared to experience the mental, physical, spiritual and emotional battle of my life.
True Emotions of a Man: The Boy, The Man & His God is a poetry book in autobiographical form. Each poem tells a story of a specific time and experience in the author's life, from a young child to his supernatural realizations. As a young child Mr. Hampton witnessed domestic abuse, survived childhood cancer and was a victim of sexual abuse. Through his transparent recollections he invites his audience into the bolted chamber where his inner secrets and emotions are tucked away. By exposing his personal truths he encourages the audience to find parallels in their own lives. Not only will this collection of inspirational poetry inspire you; it will change your life forever.

Sexual Abuse not only damages the victim physically but mentally and emotionally...
Violation
You took from me, my right to be, emotionally
Free
You stole from me, mental stability
Even now, my mind continues to revisit the moment and time
The moment and time you violated me.
My self-worth diminished
I continued to question, "Why me?"
"Did I deserve what happened?"
Maybe, possibly
"Maybe I was a bad person!"
If all of those thoughts are wrong, well why don't you tell me your version!
Of a story forced to be written
Of a body and mind taken
Of a heart forsaken
Of the pain you caused me
The pain you caused me,
When you violated me.
Unable to connect with those around me
In fear that they too would misuse me
You left me handicapped socially
And never had the decency
To offer me an apology.
You violated me!
Doesn't that count for anything?
You violated me!
In my ears, your voice continues to ring;
Ring of the words you said to me
The words you said to me, as you violated me.
I can still see your face
I can still see the moment
I can still see the bed
All of this plays like a movie
Running through my head
Tears of embarrassment stream down my face
Looking in the mirror all I see is disgrace
As you walk around the neighborhood happily
I live with the pain, agony and disgust of when you violated me!
I cry at night
I smile during the day
This way
No one knows what happened to me
I never want anyone to know
That you violated me.
Will I ever be free?
Mentally, Emotionally
Will I ever see
Happiness in all its glory?
Will my mind finally be released
From the taunting images of
The actions you forced on me?
Will I ever be strong enough to overcome
The reality of what happened to me?
Can I ever forgive you?
That could take an eternity
Now I'm standing here, waiting to be set free
Until my time I guess I will have to live with the fact that
You violated me.

It is always hard to face your fear especially if it is a person. But thanks be to God that He has given you courage to face this dark past!!! This is going to encourage so many others to express their fears and frustrations and release the hurt and pain!
The experience of a young adult trying to figure out what they want to do for employment or education can be overwhelming. My book will give them insight to what it means to be a carpenter. And the progress unions have made in discrimination.
